In a move set to shape Hathway Cable & Datacom’s next chapter, the company has appointed Gurjeev Singh Kapoor as COO cum CEO designate, effective April 20, 2026. The board, acting on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, approved the appointment to strengthen the leadership team and align with the company’s growth ambitions. Kapoor’s designation as COO cum CEO designate marks a planned pathway to succession, with the transition formalized over a period of several months.
Kapoor is billed as a media-industry veteran with more than 30 years of leadership experience across major platforms. He has held key roles at ESPN, Discovery, and Sony Pictures, and most recently led the Distribution & International business at Disney Star, where he was credited with scaling global distribution and driving revenue growth. His academic credentials include a B.E. from Delhi College of Engineering, an MBA in Marketing Management from Delhi University’s Faculty of Management Studies, and a diploma in Digital Business Leadership from Cornell University.
Under the transition plan, Kapoor will assume the top executive mantle as CEO on September 1, 2026, following the completion of Tavinderjit Singh Panesar’s term as current CEO on August 31, 2026. The forthcoming change signals Hathway’s emphasis on accelerating content distribution, expanding market reach, and strengthening operational excellence as it navigates a dynamic media landscape.
